Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the wife of the immediate past Governor of the state, Dame Edith Okowa, on her 63rd birth anniversary.

Governor Oborevwori, in statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, lauded Dame Okowa for her charitable endeavours, particularly those aimed at giving the less-fortunate members of the society a higher quality of life.

He said that Dame Okowa remained an honourable and selfless woman who stood stoically by her husband as Governor of the state for eight years.

According to him, Dame Okowa’s 05 Initiative made a significant positive difference in the lives of the less- fortunate, adding that it would be impossible to discuss the achievements of the immediate past administration in the state without acknowledging the outstanding contributions of Dame Okowa through her 05 Initiative.

Governor Oborevwori said: “As Dame Okowa marks 63 years of remarkable achievements, I implore her to remain resolute in her goal of providing support and hope to the underprivileged members of the society.

“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta State, I congratulate our loving mother and outstanding philanthropist, Dame Edith Okowa, on her 63rd birth anniversary.

“Your Excellency, you have demonstrated a great deal of zeal for helping the sick, prisoners in Nigeria Correctional Centres, orphans and other underprivileged members in the society.

“You are a remarkable mother of immeasurable worth and a magnificent embodiment of compassion who preaches the word of God at all times.

“We ask God to continue to bless you with good health, discernment and grace in your unwavering dedication to the welfare of women and children, as you have had a significant impact on both your family and the state.
