The Commissioner for Finance, Mr David Edevbie, has commended the staff of the ministry for being exceptional in their duties which he noted had contributed to his success for the past four yours.

Mr Edevbie gave the commendation during a send forth organised for him by the ministry at the Conference Hall of the Olorogun Felix Ibru Secretariat Complex, Asaba.

The Finance Commissioner expressed special thanks to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Cornelius Semiteje, the Accountant General, Mr Cyril Agbele and the Chairman, Delta Board of Internal Revenue (DBIR), Mr Monday Onyeme for their loyalty and truthfulness.

He also commended his Special Assistants, Mr Ndubuisi Ogbeche and Prince Nuvie Omeru, his secretaries, and direct staff for their support.

Mr Edevbie who admitted to having high work standards and operating strictly based on merit tendered apologies to those he might have offended in the course of carrying out his duty.

The Commissioner who was highly emotional for the elaborate send forth organised for him stated that he was overwhelmed by the initiative and the warmth behind it, even as he expressed his heart felt gratitude to everyone who had worked with him in the last four years, stating that it would not have been possible without them.

The Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr Semiteje and the Accountant General, Mr Cyril Agbele in their separate speech, applauded the commissioner describing him as public servant per excellence, vast, hard working and truthful.

The Chairman DBIR, Mr Monday Onyeme, the Managing Drector, Universal Investment Development Company (UIDC) Mr Mary Ohohe and the Executive Director, Delta Trust, Mr Joshua Mowhen appreciated the commissioner for his contributions towards the growth of their respective companies.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of souvenir to the Commissioner,  which also featured comedy by Baba D and music.
