The Delta State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. David Edevbie has lauded the State Governor Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his tireless work behind the scene towards ensuring peace and unity in the State.
David Edevbie made this statement at an exclusive interview with the Niger Delta Online television/magazine in Asaba.
The Finance Commissioner described the governor as an unsung hero who had not only worked for all to see but also invested a lot in many areas that were not seen such as the drastic reduction in cases of inter community/ ethnic crisis, pipe vandalism, and the upgrade of education in the state.
According to Edevbie, the Governor surrounded himself with good people who advise him and that by reason of his personality, the administration had been able to achieve several mile stones which said include an increase in the internally generated revenue, increase in transparency, proper management of resources and the implementation of the SAP to mention a few.
Edevbie said that based on the achievements of the Okowa administration, the election is a done deal, even as he stated that the electoral process was a necessary validation and charged Deltans to do the right thing and make use of their voting power to ensure continuity of good governance.
He advised candidates to eschew violence before, during and after the election saying they should rather sell their policies and programs to form a basis for their campaign.
